Baby Grand Racing Stays on Track with ESAB

ESAB is a proud sponsor of Baby Grand racing. Baby Grand racecars are 2/3 scale stockcars that race on short tracks across the United States and Canada. The racing is fast and furious, and sometimes results in some scary looking crashes. When that happens, every Baby Grand racer is glad that a quality ESAB welder was used to build the rollcage providing their best protection from injury.

Troy Dye flips five times at Music City Motorplex in Nashville, Tennessee. His ESAB welded rollcage protected him and the driver of the car he landed on at the end!

At the Baby Grand factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky the cars are built from scratch and ESAB welders are used to build the complex frame assembly for each car. The frames are mig welded, while some smaller aluminum parts like rear spoilers are tig welded. We couldn't build our cars without top quality welding equipment, and we trust ESAB states Baby Grands President, David Daniels.

Baby Grand racing is sanctioned by the Miniature Motorsports Racing Association (MMRA) which organizes events throughout North America. The 2008 racing season just ended, and MMRA recognized top racers at their national awards banquet. ESAB provided door prizes for the event, and the racers were excited to have the chance to go home with top quality equipment for their race shop.
